Eye Safety Training

Importance of Eye Safety Training in the Workplace

Most eye injuries at work happen for one of two reasons: the protection was wrong for the hazard, or it wasn’t being worn at all. Our Eye Safety training course shows employees how to recognize the hazards behind those injuries (flying particles, dust, chemical splashes and the radiant energy produced by welding and cutting) and how to select, wear and care for safety glasses, goggles and face shields. The training supports OSHA’s eye and face protection requirements (29 CFR 1910.133 for general industry and 29 CFR 1926.102 for construction) and fits naturally into a broader personal protective equipment training program.

Pick the eye safety training videos that match your workplace. Job-site crews doing grinding, cutting and overhead work should take Eye Safety in Construction Environments, while Safety Showers and Eye Washes covers the critical first seconds after a chemical splash, including how to reach and use emergency equipment correctly. Lab teams have a dedicated course in Safety Showers and Eye Washes in the Laboratory. Because many splash injuries start with a chemical that wasn’t understood, pair these courses with Hazard Communication (HazCom) training and GHS and Safety Data Sheet training.

Every training video is available in the format that suits your team. Assign it to individual employees through Unlimited Interactive Online Training with completion certificates, show it to groups with Unlimited Safety Video Streaming or Classroom / Trainer Delivery, or keep a copy on hand with safety DVDs and USBs. Most titles are available in both English and Spanish.
