Importance of Safety Training in the Lab

Laboratories concentrate a wide range of hazards in a small space: toxic and reactive chemicals, flammable liquids, compressed gases, glassware, biological materials and electrical equipment. OSHA’s Laboratory Standard (29 CFR 1910.1450) requires a written Chemical Hygiene Plan and training so lab workers understand the hazards of the chemicals they use and the controls that protect them. Our laboratory safety training videos are built around that standard, starting with Orientation to Laboratory Safety, which shows new employees and seasoned veterans alike why safety matters in the lab and reviews the OSHA regulations and good practices that apply.

From there, choose training videos for the specific work your lab does.
