Driving Safety

This Interactive course on Driving Safety discusses the hazards that can be encountered on the road and the safe practices that employees can use to avoid them. We do so much driving that it’s easy to forget how dangerous it can be. Each year motor vehicle accidents claim more than two million lives worldwide and result in tens of millions serious injuries. In fact, they are the number one cause of death on the job. Employees can prevent these incidents if they understand how to deal with the hazards that they can encounter on the road… whether they result from mechanical problems, bad weather, darkness, distraction, other drivers or even themselves. If employees approach driving with this knowledge, as well as the proper attitude, good driving skills and a well-maintained vehicle, they can help to prevent accidents and injuries… and make the roads a safer place for everyone. Areas covered in the course include preparing to drive safely, safe driving principles for all drivers, driving safely when sharing the road with trucks and buses, staying safe when driving at night and in inclement weather, avoiding distractions when you’re driving, the dangers of road rage, what to do if a “driving emergency” arises and more.
