Importance of Hand and Power Tool Safety Training in the Workplace

Hand and power tools are so familiar that the risks are easy to overlook, yet they cause a steady stream of cuts, puncture wounds, eye injuries, electric shocks and amputations. OSHA’s hand and portable powered tool standards (29 CFR 1910 Subpart P, and 29 CFR 1926 Subpart I for construction) require that tools be kept in safe condition and used with the guards and protective equipment they were designed for. Our Hand and Power Tool Safety training video covers the different types of hand and power tools, the hazards workers can encounter when using them, and the safe work practices that protect them.

Choose the version built for your setting: construction environments, industrial environments, transportation and warehouse environments or healthcare facilities personnel. Because hands take the brunt of tool injuries, add Hand, Wrist and Finger Safety, with versions for construction and industrial work. Stationary equipment is covered by Machine Guard Safety and our machine guarding safety courses, and flying particles make eye safety training a natural companion.

The construction and industrial versions and Machine Guard Safety are available in English and Spanish, and the others in English. Assign training videos through Unlimited Interactive Online Training, show them in the shop with Classroom / Trainer Delivery, or keep safety DVDs and USBs on hand.
