Importance of Ergonomics Safety Training in the Workplace
Musculoskeletal disorders such as back strain, carpal tunnel syndrome and tendinitis develop gradually from awkward postures, repetitive motion and forceful exertion, and they are among the most common causes of lost workdays. There is no OSHA ergonomics standard, but employers are still expected to address recognized ergonomic hazards, and training employees to spot early symptoms and adjust how they work is one of the most effective ways to prevent these injuries.
Our ergonomics safety training videos are organized by work setting. Desk-based employees can take Office Ergonomics and Computer Workstation Safety, which help employees recognize ergonomic problems at the desk and apply practical fixes, along with Hand, Wrist and Finger Safety in Office Environments. Production, assembly and warehouse workers should take Industrial Ergonomics, and lab staff Laboratory Ergonomics. Since lifting causes so many musculoskeletal injuries, add our back safety training courses, and find more desk-related courses on our office safety courses page.
Office Ergonomics, Computer Workstation Safety and Industrial Ergonomics are available in English and Spanish, and the other videos in English. Roll the training out to remote and on-site staff with Unlimited Interactive Online Training, cover it in a team meeting with Unlimited Safety Video Streaming, or order safety DVDs and USBs.
