DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing… for CDL Drivers
Everyone knows that alcohol, drugs and driving don’t mix, but impaired drivers are still a major cause of accidents. With 42,795 fatalities and 1.5 million injuries in 2022 in the United States alone, keeping commercial drivers who are impaired by drugs or alcohol off the roads and getting them help for their substance use disorders is more important than ever.
This updated course on “Drug and Alcohol Testing… for CDL Drivers” includes the recent approval of “oral fluids testing” as a testing method, as well as discusses the Federal Transportation Employee Testing Act, which helps ensure that drivers of commercial vehicles stay drug-and alcohol-free. The course also provides information on what happens if a driver tests positive for a substance, and how they can get help for a drug or alcohol use disorder.
