Forklift Safety for Pedestrians

When you’re on foot near cars, trucks or other vehicles, following basic safety rules can help to avoid accidents and the injuries that they can cause. But the road is not the only place that you can encounter motorized vehicles … they can be present in your work environment as well.

In many facilities the most common of these are forklifts. They may look small, but they can actually weigh up to three times as much as a car. And if one’s involved in an accident people could end up being seriously injured, even killed.

That’s why both “pedestrians” and forklift operators must work together to share their space safely…so that they can keep themselves, and each other, out of harm’s way.
